The Villa
Villa Nalina began as a labour of love, the architects paying particular attention to the feng shui properties of the residence. Interiors were hand chosen to accentuate various indigenous influences such as the Chinese ceramic vases and the large stone Hindu and Buddhist statues in the garden area. The use of locally sourced organic materials is seen in everything from the large coffee table to the spacious terrazzo baths.

Water is an important element of Villa Nalina with a lotus pond teaming with koi upon entrance and bubbling water features fringing the villa. The gentle sound of bubbling water soothes the senses. Within the inviting twenty-meter lap pool sits an Olympian style fire, which is dramatically lit at night creating flickering reflections throughout the main living area.

The Bedrooms
To awake to the gentle sound of the ocean nearby and tropical birdsong is a luxury in itself. The exterior of the two-tiered sleeping pavilion has a Dutch Colonial feel with shuttered windows and whitewashed woodwork. There are three spacious master suites (6 adults’ maximum), all individual in interior design, which include bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.

Luxury abounds with king sized sprung beds, an oversized leather sofa in the upper suite which faces a huge flat screen TV, his and hers matching rainwater showers, double sinks and large tubs to soak in. The walls are hung with an eclectic mix of art with illustrations, modern Balinese portraits as well as contemporary abstract hangings.

The expansive Living & Dining Pavilion is characterised by a soaring ‘alang alang’ thatched roof, cream terrazzo floor, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that run the length of the building and along one side. These doors can folded open to create an open-air, tropical living experience beside the garden and swimming pool. The pavilion is cooled by six powerful ceiling fans. At one side of the room is a dining table, comfortably seating ten on rattan chairs. The cream walls are adorned with local artwork and the centre of the room is furnished with two cushioned rattan sofas and ottomans, a large coffee table, lamps and an antique Javanese ‘gerobok’ chest on wooden wheels, originally used for storing rice. A romantic, canopied daybed rests in the corner beside an antique table.

TV Room
The TV Room is located on the ground floor next to the Living & Dining Pavilion. This cosy, air-conditioned room is accessed by folding glass doors and features a cool terrazzo floor. It is furnished with a comfortable sofa bed and equipped with bookshelves, a satellite-channel TV & DVD/CD player and a computer. WiFi Internet access is available.

Kitchen
The fully equipped, modern kitchen is strategically positioned between the Living & Dining Pavilion and the staff service area. It presents marble work surfaces, a central island and immaculate stainless steel appliances.

Master Suite
The Master Suite covers the ground floor of the two-storey building. The suite is dominated by a king-size, netted bed and the walls display colourful paintings. This generously-sized bedroom also incorporates a sitting area furnished with a desk, shelf unit, lamps, sofa, coffee table, desk and a huge satellite-channel TV with DVD and sound system. A window to one side overlooks a small pebbled garden.

The grand, ensuite, air-conditioned bathroom is accessed via sliding doors. It features an avocado-green terrazzo floor and a huge central bathtub. A double vanity unit is fashioned in the same green terrazzo and presents two mirrors and twin washbasins. There is also a walk-in shower and a toilet hidden within an alcove. Floor-to-ceiling mirrored doors slide open to reveal a dressing room, fitted with a wall of rattan-fronted wardrobes.

Sliding glass doors from the bedroom open onto a covered verandah that runs the length of the building and looks out over the garden. It is furnished with a rattan sofa, two rattan chairs and a small table.

Guest Bedrooms
Guest Bedrooms ‘Casa Evaliza 1′ and ‘Casa Evaliza 2′ are located on the upper floor, accessed by a timber-clad staircase. The rooms are bordered by a delightful covered balcony with a timber floor and elevated views of the garden. The balcony runs the length of the building and is furnished with a sofa, rattan chairs and a glass-topped table. These two air-conditioned guest bedrooms feature wooden floors and are equipped with queen-size beds, reading lamps, wardrobes, mirrors and TV/DVD players. Ensuite bathrooms are fashioned in green terrazzo and are fitted with bathtubs, single vanity units, walk-in showers and toilets. The fourth bedroom is slightly smaller; it is furnished with a queen size bed and TV/DVD. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a wardrobe, washbasin, walk-in rainshower and toilet.

Swimming Pool and Garden
The large walled garden is shaded by beautiful mature trees and landscaped with a terraced lawn on two different levels, complete with fragrant frangipani trees and potted bonsais. Palimanan stone steps lead up to the 14.5 x 5 metre swimming pool, which features a dazzling water cascade at one end. A set of wide, grass covered steps extends to a grassy pool deck furnished with sunbeds. This is also the location of a ‘bale’ open-sided, thatched relaxation pavilion fitted with a huge built-in daybed. There is an alfresco dining table for six, sheltered within the bale.

The drive from the Bali’s international airport takes approximately 25 minutes. Architecture
Villa Elang has been entirely refurbished this year. Designed and built by the locally-acclaimed, Bali-based, PT. Triadi architectural and construction group, the villa accents colonial style elements, such as high ceilings, cool limed terracotta tiled flooring and large terraces graced by tall white pillars. As is their standard, the villa has been built with the very best of amenities and to the highest standards. The proportions of all of the living areas and bedrooms are generous, and the interior furnishings have been tastefully integrated throughout, with comfortable white over sized rattan armchairs, and lounges. Entrance and Garden
The villa is accessed by the private Sentosa Villa driveway, with secure parking for 4 cars. Guests enter through a set of traditional double Balinese doors opening onto an ‘Aling Aling’ wall behind which is a small fish pond with a ‘Barong’ face water feature. The garden is simple and easy on the eye, edged with several rare and mature massive Hawaiian palm trees. One pool opposite the living area is kidney shaped and has 6 pool deck chairs and a cushioned Pool Bale. The second smaller rectangle pool divides the living Pavilion from the master bedroom pavilion. Fortunately the villa has a completely separate access for the staff and all service deliveries, so you are not disturbed or interrupted unnecessarily during your stay.

Main Pavilion
Large white palimanan pavers walk you immediately to the central focus of the villa – the magnificent and expansive 12 m x 10 m open-air living and dining pavilion which opens directly onto the flat lawn garden and main pool deck, giving a seamless flow from indoors to out. This pavilion has spectacular high wooden white painted ceilings, set with overhead fans and the wide roof overhang and large terraces ensure that guests can enjoy all the benefits of open tropical living and can still be protected from the elements. This open planed area accommodates two 5-seater oversized rattan sofas, and a TV area. Two further casual seating areas with large white raffles style rattan chairs face onto the garden. A beautiful timber dining table easily seats 14 guests.

Kitchen
At the rear a stunning natural 4 meter timber bar opens to a beautiful galley guest kitchen. Unlike many villas in Bali, where the kitchen is tucked away at the back of the property, the immaculate open kitchen at Villa Elang is a popular with guests who enjoy mixing drinks and preparing some of their meals if that is to their liking. The kitchen has large mirrored back walls, soft grey marble work surfaces and white cupboards and is fully equipped with refrigerator, and gas hob.

Staff Kitchen
A separate service kitchen is located adjacent to the rear of the open guest kitchen. This kitchen has been set up so that the staff can prepare food separately and serve it elegantly for all guest dining. This kitchen is also fully equipped with a second stove and fridge and has everything else that the staff will need to create delicious meals. There is also a large canopied BBQ.

Dining
Villa Elang is ideal for entertaining for both small and large formal dinners. Dimmed over head lighting, together with the atmosphere of a beautiful set, candlelit table, overlooking the garden and pools make for many a memorable evening. Dinners are cooked by our excellent cook Ketut, who shops at the local markets, and is served by our well trained staff. Villa Elang is close to many local markets and shops and fortunately to Bali Deli which has the best selection of imported foods and wines in Bali. A menu is provided and you can always discuss your particular menu and food preferences.

Bali now has many specialist caterers who can arrange all aspects of catering from food, wines, and decorative details including flowers, additional sound and lighting systems and entertainment to create a unique in house experience. The Balinese are very proud of their heritage and special Balinese entertainment, with their unique dancers, and gamelan band can also be provided.

Sleeping Pavilions
From the main living pavilion a wide white palimanan terrace takes you though to the bedroom courtyard which is U shaped. The two bedroom pavilions are separated by a feature wall of three antiqued limed Bali doors that are beautifully unlighted at night.. There are 4 bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs. All the downstairs bedrooms wide double doors which open onto the courtyard. As one would expect from any discerning villa all bedrooms are air-conditioned, with overhead ceiling fans and all have an en-suite bathroom.

Four bedrooms have large super king 200 x 200 sized beds, one bedroom has large twin beds, which can be put together to as q Queen sized bed. A dreamy night sleep is assured with lightweight duvets, 100% cotton sheets and soft cotton mosquito net canopies. White curtains are drawn at night ensure that the bedrooms are kept cool. Three bedrooms have large walk in robes and two have wardrobes, all with safety deposit boxes and plenty of storage space for luggage. The bedrooms have been simply decorated with individual colour themes but have been tastefully integrated to have the same soft rose-tinted terracotta edged in timber floors and continue the cool white theme of crisp white walls, white rattan easy chair sand white linens.

Bathrooms
Both master bedrooms have twin, his and her vanities, bathtubs and the popular outdoor shower. The main master has a stunning adjoining large cream large terrazzo bathroom entered via large antique limed timber doors. The bathroom has a central bathtub large enough for two with a beautiful tropical garden carved stone wall feature. The outdoor shower is behind glazed walls with a bamboo detail. The bedroom closest to the living pavilion has an internal shower only as does the bedroom upstairs. The twin bedroom has a shower only with a delightful courtyard garden.

Study Media Room
The media room has been cleverly designed to give access and easily connect the three bedrooms in the separate master bedroom pavilion. This is an ideal set up for families. The master bedroom has an internal door which opens onto the media/study room. The media room also is the access to the bedroom upstairs, with the twin bedroom only a few steps away. The TV Room has a wall unit with, cable TV and DVD player, a wall to wall built in sofa, a cozy nook for relaxing.

Laundry and Staff Quarters
There is an on-site laundry and the staff has been trained to handle all guest laundry. Please advise which items you wished to have dry cleaned, which will be arranged for you and charged at local prices.

Staff
There are 9 full time staff at the villa to take care of your every need. Pool and Garden
The modern touch continues into the garden and pool area, merging the inside of the house with the outside surroundings. Locally available volcanic stones called “Batu Candi” are used extensively through out the outdoor areas, a perfect example of how the use of natural materials can be adapted into a tropical contemporary design.

The lush tropical garden design takes on an almost geomantic approach, which compliments the contemporary design of the interior. Belonging mostly to the palm and heliconia species, the plants used through out the garden truly reflected the feeling of tropical living. Two “Batu Candi” sundecks rest at either side of the natural stone pool, one exposed to the sunlight, which is perfect for sunbathing, while the other placed under three mature trees, perfectly suited for lying under the shade for some long neglected siestas.

Bedrooms
Roofed in traditional Balinese tile roof, Villa D’Suite Seminyak Bali is comprised of three bedrooms; two on either side of the semi-open living area flanked by a 2- tiered pond, and another to the one side of the air-conditioned living room. All three bedrooms have it’s own ensuite bathrooms and all equipped with 33-channeled cable TV.

Living and Dining Area
The living areas of the villa are the best combination of both worlds: indoors and outdoors. The indoor living room is fully air-conditioned and houses the sofa area with audio-visual systems housed in cabinets. Entertainment facilities consist of a cable television, DVD player, and stereo system – also supplied are a selection of DVDs, books and board games. To the other end of this area sits a long, highly polished teak table that enables 8 to sit and dine comfortably. Behind the dinning table is the pantry with mini-bar, refrigerator, and sink. However, smart design makes it still appear as a comfortable home despite of its exact measurements.

Living quarters are housed in an L-shape building surrounding the swimming pool. Compact open living area overlooking the swimming pool comes with comfortable lounging couches, dining area, and a small kitchen. The two bedrooms are smartly located on different sides of the pool allowing both to enjoy quite wide views.

The deep blue of the swimming pool is all you catch by entering the gate of Villa 2 which houses three bedrooms. The main 2-storey pavilion houses the living room, together with a breezy upstairs mezzanine and balcony, and four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a family lounge, which doubles as a yoga pavilion, and an elegant dining pavilion. Taking advantage of the villa’s tropical location, all of the rooms boast large teakwood-framed glass doors that can be pocketed away to allow the cool breezes to circulate, thereby ensuring that guests can enjoy the full impact of the surroundings while sheltered from the elements. Architecture
Designed by the internationally-acclaimed, Bali-based, Glen Parker of ‘Glen Parker Architects’, in collaboration with the owners who spend much of their time at the property, Villa Jaja-Liluna is a masterpiece that blends the very best of modern Balinese architectural elements with elegant finishes and superior amenities. The architecture of the villa utilises local materials including ironwood shingles for the roof, creamy white Palimanan stone, Bengkirai wood floors, cream terrazzo, white pebbled pathways and decorative pebbled borders. The fresh white walls and furnishings, the warm brown of the teakwood frames, and the cool aquamarine and cobalt blue of the ceramic pool tiles, form the dominant colours, juxtaposed against the greenery of Bali’s exotic plants. The style is based on the concept of the traditional Balinese family compound with a separate building or ‘bale’ for each function, and a licence to amend the purpose of each in accordance with the comforts of modern living. Recessed lighting creates a romantic ambience at night.

Entrance, garden and swimming pool
A snaking pathway leads from a spacious car parking area to the main entrance marked by an unusual pivot door. Visitors will then traverse an ornamental pond flanked by twin palm trees and firebowls. Water plays a central and important role in the agriculturally-based culture of Bali, and this has been reflected in the layout of the property. A stunning swimming pool has been designed to link the three pavilions. The pool flows with the living design and joins everything together, coming right up to the edge of the rooms to create an intimate connection between each pavilion. A timber sundeck extends from the main living area, and Palimanan stone sun terraces are situated opposite each other on either side of the pool. One terrace is furnished with sun-loungers and umbrellas, the other with a barbeque and a large table with bench seats for alfresco dining. Additional shade is provided by two twisting frangipani trees; during the day these sweet-scented flowering trees cast cool shadows, while at night they appear to dance on the shimmering water of the pool.

Living and Sleeping Pavilion
The symmetrical living and sleeping pavilion is a 2-storey building. The downstairs living room opens directly onto the timber deck bordering the pool. Graced with lazy chairs and deeply cushioned sofas, the white colour theme is broken by the occasional splash of colour and a fine collection of antique framed prints on the walls. This carefully crafted room, with its cool terrazzo floor, easily earns its place as the nexus of the property, and is ideal for entertaining and relaxing. The doors at each end open fully to create a moving air flow, while exposing a sparkling water cascade bounded by a hedge of young bamboo at the back. A guest powder-room, with toilet and washbasin, is located to one side of the water cascade. Big circular cushioned cane chairs rest upon the pool deck at the front underneath a Sunbrella canopy, which provides shelter and shade and is reminiscent of the sails of a boat. A Palimanan staircase leads up to a timber floored mezzanine, another breezy living space furnished with a large daybed and a plasma wide-screen satellite TV and DVD player. This area is fitted with doors that open completely onto a balcony running the length of the pavilion, overhanging the garden. The balcony is also accessed from each of the upstairs bedrooms. Large picture windows on the stair landing overlook the neighbouring rice fields. The main living area and upstairs mezzanine face directly west. Due to the close proximity of the beach, the skyline is uncluttered, presenting great views of the Balinese sunsets complete with the palm trees silhouetted against red and purple skies.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
All four air-conditioned bedrooms, with their en-suite bathrooms and cream terrazzo floors, are the same size and shape; two are located downstairs and two are located upstairs, mirror images of each other in keeping with the perfect symmetry. Three of the bedrooms are furnished with king size beds with diaphanous white drapes. The fourth bedroom, upstairs, is fitted out as a children’s room, designed to sleep four kids in bunk beds. Each bedroom is complemented by fitted white louvre wardrobes, white storage units and white curtains. Each en-suite bathroom is entered through an Asian-influenced sliding frosted-glass door, designed to let the light through. All of the bathrooms feature grey streaked marble topped vanity units, huge wall mirrors, ceramic washbowls, toilets, and sizeable glass shower cubicles with powerful rainshowers. One of the upstairs bathrooms features “his & hers” washbasins, while one of the downstairs bathrooms boasts a bathtub, bordered by mosaic tiles in shades of brown and beige. The doors from this downstairs bathroom open into a private walled garden area with an outdoor rainshower, complete with mosaic tiled splashback and washbasin.

Lounge Pavilion
The single-storey lounge pavilion is a square building characterised by a Bengkirai wood floor bordered by Palimanan, underneath a soaring pitched roof displaying the neat rattan lining on the underside of the roof. The clever design allows guests to completely fold back the doors on three sides to create an open-air pavilion, cooled by natural breezes and ceiling fans. Bamboo blinds can be dropped for privacy and shade. Equipped with a satellite TV and DVD player, this family room is a cosy snug for reading or watching TV or movies, while also doubling as a yoga pavilion. One wall is fitted with white cupboards and shelf units stocked with books; this is flanked by twin alcoves, positioned opposite each other, each one showcasing a Buddha’s head resting upon a pedestal.

Dining Pavilion
The dining pavilion is the same shape and size as the lounge pavilion, complete with a Bengkirai wood floor and glass doors that can be completely folded back on three sides to create an open-air ambience, cooled by natural breezes and ceiling fans. The mood generated by the unique furnishing styles, however, is very different from that of the lounge pavilion. This elegant dining room is furnished with an attractive square dining table and eight chairs, together with a service counter.

Kitchen & Laundry
The fully-equipped kitchen, together with a laundry, is housed in the service area to one side of the property, leaving the remainder of the villa free to enjoy the environs of the garden and pool.

The Villas
26 private pool villas are generously sized at 140 square meters with 70 square meters of indoor space and 70 square meters outdoors. All villas feature the following:

Bedroom
Featuring either a built in king or twin beds using the finest King Koil mattresses and linens, both goose down and dacron foam pillows are available. A free standing room divider conceals a television facing the bed, the other side is a double wardrobe which faces two full height sliding mirrored doors to the bathroom. The bedroom opens directly onto the sun deck and pool through 3 meter high sliding glass doors.

Living Space
The living area is open plan and accommodates a dining table and pantry area complete with a counter height mini bar fridge. The lounge area has two daybeds facing the pool and sundeck below oversized bi-fold windows which can slide open turning the lounge into a semi outdoor shaded area. The daybeds easily convert to additional beds for children at night, a coffee table and ottoman completes the lounge. A console table runs along the wall facing the lounge with a second television and DVD player at one end, plug in broad band internet ports and sound dock speakers for ipods at the other. Selected artwork and objects adorn the walls and are placed throughout.

Bathroom
The bathroom has a second wardrobe, separate toilet, stone-topped vanity and make up mirror. Step down into a tiled tumbled marble bath and shower, deliberately oversized with a skylight above adding to the drama.

Sundeck & Pool
Each villa has an 8 x 3meter pool bordered on two sides by a lush planter and on the villa side by a timber sundeck. A shallow swim-out runs below the lounge window under an overhanging roof, a perfect place to lay semi submerged or sit and read. The deck which is left natural to age and weather accommodates two sun loungers and a square tree planter, with a frangipani or coral tree to provide some natural shade.

Climate Control
Bedrooms and lounges have both air conditioning and ceiling fans so they can be enjoyed fully open and fan cooled during the day or enclosed and air conditioned at night. High ceilings, landscaping and natural materials have all been planned to enhance guest comfort.

Each villa has two televisions connected to cable television with over 40 channels, DVD player, broadband internet and sound systems (pre loaded Nano iPods) and IDD telephones.

Reception
An open pavilion surrounded by water provides a cool welcome to the Elysian. Unique and funky gift items such as kimonos, bed spreads, soaps and bath amenities, as well as books on Indonesian culture and art can also be purchased here. Sun Terrace
The lounge leads through to a sun terrace which overlooks the main pool.

Opening off of the terrace is the library which can also be used as a meeting room or private dining room for up to 12 people.

The Elysian spa

Rush Bamboo Poolside Cafe & Bar and Pool Terrace
Located a level down from the reception level, by the main pool terrace.

The menus and drink lists focus on the use of the freshest available ingredients, sourced from local organic farms and air flown imports. These include freshly grilled seafood and meats, main course salads, open faced sandwiches and desserts. A private dining menu is offered 24 hours a day.

The 25 meter pool runs the length of the terrace ending in a trellis covered water fall above which sits a Balinese temple. Villa des Indes is built in a unique style and decorated with museum quality Indonesian art. Enter the villa through huge antique doors and across a koi pond to the magnificent centerpiece of the estate, the “Joglo”. This century old residence of a Javanese nobleman has been carefully transplanted to Bali. It is a masterpiece of intricately hand carved teak wood that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. The Joglo rests on a lagoon-style swimming pool featuring an island and set in an amazing tropical garden.

The owners who are well traveled, with long experience in South East Asia, have decorated the Joglo and the three individual bungalows with selected museum-quality art from their extensive collection, which include: paintings, period furniture, classic sculptures as well as charming colonial prints.

Laksmana Villas
None of the tranquility of Bali’s timeless charm has been lost, the exclusive residences of Laksmana Villas are situated in complete privacy down a shady lane that keeps the outside world at a discreet distance, and all this only one hundred meters from the Indian ocean ! At night the only sounds heard are that of a tropical breeze in swaying coconut palms, and the distant crashing of surf.

Bungalows
Each of the three individual colonial style bungalows within the villa residence have wide verandas and magnificent views of the exquisitely hand carved Javanese Joglo, the social center of the estate and overlook the pool. All of the bungalows are fully air conditioned with oversized antique Balinese wooden beds, splendidly appointed baths, and outdoor showers.

Three of the bungalows have den-libraries attached to the bedrooms. The third bungalow has an upper open pavilion for sunset cocktails with adjacent butler’s pantry and guest toilet. The best of Seminyak is within walking distance of the villa, but many visitors find they will seldom leave this elegant ambience which transports all who enter to a gentler more civilized era.
